Alpha Networks Launches the Fast 40G Cloud-scale Data Center Switch with Integrated Broadcom IC
HSINSHU, Taiwan, Aug. 27, 2012 - Alpha Networks Inc. (TAIEX: 3380), a global leader in the networking and multimedia DMS industry, is proud to announce today that Alpha Networks has prototyped the high speed transmission, PHY-less, massive cloud-scale, Data Center Switch called the SCQ-6000 in just 3 months. Collaborating with the latest IC of Broadcom, the PHY-less Data Center Switch not only saves space and material, but also greatly reduces power consumption and unit cost. The SCQ-6000 has magnificent speed improvements and expandable to 104 10GE ports. The extraordinary efficiency and flexibility are essential for all enterprises and global telecommunications companies in the market today.
According to a global research report, it is estimated that overall cloud IP traffic will grow at a CAGR of 66 percent from 2012 to 2015, and that annual global Data Center IP traffic will reach an extraordinary size of 4.8 zettabytes by the end of 2015 (Note 1). With the world progressing with a huge variety of cloud computing applications in people's everyday lives, public cloud workloads increase dramatically. Data Center Switches have become the first choice of enterprise and global telecommunications companies because of their high performance, high efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
During the years, Alpha Networks acquired great insight of global market movement, and gears with the advantage of having the latest communication standards and superior engineering development under the same roof, running ahead of the trend and continues to deliver the new innovative Data Center Switch for cloud-scale networking. In 2012, Alpha broke away from the traditional switch design concept by prototyping the high-density, cloud-scale, PHY-less, 10/40 GE aggregation/core switch with 32×40 GE ports, 1U box-type, Cloud Data Center Switch in only 3 months. This switch was first showcased at the INTEROP event in May and captivated the attention of many, and will again feature at the VMworld event.
"With the increasing convergence of cloud applications, Alpha has proudly presented a very comprehensive Ethernet switch portfolio to the global market. Our engineering strength and capability develop innovative solutions, in-house, greatly reducing the time-to-market without sacrificing quality. Alpha will continue to pioneer the trend of the switch market and develop in the direction of providing solutions to all aspects and integration services and lead the world towards excellent networking," said Harrison Chang, President of Alpha Networks.
