Alpha Networks Unveils Green-Themed Power-Saving 2-Bay SATA Network Storage Device at 2009 International CES

Las Vegas, Nevada, January 07, 2009 - Alpha Networks Inc. (TAIEX: 3380) today announced that it utilizes the latest green technologies in its new network storage enclosure, the NAS-203, which can save a maximum of 50% power consumption compared to traditional network attached storage devices.

As one of the world’s leading networking manufacturers, Alpha Networks views green networking technology development as a company-wide mission that requires a serious-minded, long-term commitment. At 2009 International CES, Alpha demonstrates this commitment by unveiling its new network storage enclosure, the NAS-203. Alpha’s NAS-203 is equipped with a smart cooling fan that can auto-adjust its fan speed according to temperature and supports a hard drive power-saving mode that can cut power usage in half and thereby help consumers to save money.

In addition to power-saving benefits, the NAS-203 supports two SATA 3.5” HDDs, with Standard, JBOD, and RAID 0/1 configuration modes, that offer users flexibility to choose the configuration best suited for back-up, data protection, and read/write transfer performance. With a built-in FTP server, the NAS-203 also supports remote file access over the internet. Furthermore, the NAS-203 is compliant with UPnP AV that can enable users to stream digital multimedia contents to compatible media players without turning on a computer. Regarding software design, the NAS-203 supports HTTP management, a NAS EZ Finder utility, real-time-clock, and e-mail alert functions.
