Alpha Foundation Donates Access Points Sending Love to Remote Townships with Business Partners to Create a Borderless Online Education Environment

Today (March 17) Alpha Foundation joined forces with public welfare organizations including TSMC Charity Foundation, China Medical University Hospital, and Lin Tseng-Lien Welfare and Charity Foundation to host a learning experience sharing event at the Shuanglong Elementary School in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, which saw the participation of approximately 50 teachers and students. They interacted and learned with the corporate volunteers amid a friendly, joyous ambiance.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education, Nantou is one of the top 3 administrative regions with the largest number of schools located in remote townships. By collaborating with numerous public welfare partners, Alpha Foundation can consolidate private resources to proactively reach out to those in need and deliver our resources and love to the remote townships. Since forging a partnership with the 4 abovementioned organizations in August 2020, Alpha Foundation has provided access points – a network communication-related hardware, TSMC Charity Foundation has provided tablet computers, popular science experiment classes, and career exploration courses; China Medical University Hospital has helped to establish computer hardware and resources; and Lin Tseng-Lien Welfare and Charity Foundation has provided tables and chairs. The purpose is to build a borderless online classroom to bridge the digital divide and allow students in remote townships to enjoy the convenient lifestyle made possible through network technology.

According to Alpha Networks General Manager Lin Yu-Chin, problems in the remote townships not only encouraged us to constantly think about equality in education but also let us see the urban-rural divide and social justice. Alpha Foundation's participation marks the beginning of more missions and visions to follow. In a bid to materialize education and development in remote townships, Alpha Networks hopes to provide network communication-related products and volunteer services to assist students in remote townships to engage in diverse learning, ensuring technology education in remote townships is on par with global standards.

Shuanglong Elementary School Principal Wu Fu-I thanked various enterprises for offering such diverse software, hardware, and resources to help students in remote townships grow. The introduction of resources allows students to engage in diverse learning, and the school is grateful for that. Besides the introduction of resources, Alpha Networks' business partners have also conducted computer maintenance and repair experience courses to endow students who are not exposed to diverse occupations due to environmental constraints with additional know-how and skill. Furthermore, students from Shuanglong Elementary School were able to participate in hands-on experiments where the scientific principles of textbooks are embodied in the classroom through missions and contests, in turn inspiring their interests in science.

Lastly, Shuanglong Elementary School's Bunun chorus blessed all the business partners, teachers, and students - totaling nearly 100 people - with a beautiful singing performance. In the future, Alpha Foundation will continue to uphold the goal of contributing to society based on the company's mobile communication core competence. Furthermore, network equipment will be combined with corporate volunteers to promote network communication education and new technological know-how. Moreover, we aspire to apply our expertise in network communication to bring together people's benevolence as well as engender warmth and hope for humanity.
