Foresight and vision of Alpha Networks – Forerunner of private 5G network

After the reelection of the Board of Directors, and despite the lack of materials caused by the pandemic as well as the international trade war, Alpha Networks has posted positive results in Q3 thanks to its expertise and cutting-edge technology, with a 25% increase in revenue (143% increase for the year, reaching TWD 9.67 billion). As for future sales outlook, Chairman Huang Wen-Fang indicated that Q4 remains optimistic, with orders accumulating until Q1 next year already. Moreover, we are also closely monitoring the prevailing shortage of materials on the market. As the forerunner of the private 5G network, we have not only shown remarkable accomplishment in Taiwan but also successfully tapped into the Japanese private 5G network application testing projects to provide end-to-end solutions. Additionally, we will continue searching for strategic partners to elevate the competitiveness of our products, technologies, and solutions, thereby increasing added value and barriers to entry.

According to Alpha Networks General Manager Lin Yu-Chin, as the forerunner in private 5G network solutions, Alpha Networks has invested heavily in end-to-end solutions R&D since 2016. At the end of 2018, the company provided small cells in support of Chunghwa Telecom's 5G Smart Pavilion Multi-View Applications in Taipei Music Center; in 2019, the company collaborated closely with the Industrial Technology Research Institute on numerous domestic 5G projects including the public utilities smart energy IoT, Tri-Service General Hospital smart healthcare, and smart exhibition. By making our presence felt on the international market, our technologies have been internationally recognized. Alpha Networks provide user equipment (UE), radio unit (RU), distributed unit (DU), and centralized unit (CU) in conjunction with a 5G core network from the Japanese telecom systems integrator to build the network. The private 5G networks are used in fields such as smart manufacturing and smart agriculture through vertical applications.

Unlike public networks, private networks can accommodate the unique requirements of each location and the type of work involved during configuration. For instance, private networks used for factory production lines can focus on latency and the performance of connected devices, while private networks designed for remote inspection emphasize the ability to transmit large data volumes. Through the private network, the enterprise can decide which users are granted connection permission, and the data can be stored within the enterprise, avoiding the unnecessary risk of data leakage to the outside. The enterprise can even purchase its exclusive spectrum to operate a private network independently of the telecom operator's network structure.

In a bid to apply the features of 5G to create new lifestyles and facilitate the digital transformation of enterprises and society, Alpha Networks has vigorously invested in the development of advanced technology to help our clients provide exhaustive service by offering them individual products and total solutions. Meanwhile, we will keep on refining and optimizing our product technology in the hope of developing various vertical services as well as industrial IoT applications to foster a win-win situation and remain as the forerunner of private 5G network solutions provider.
