Alpha Networks announces first Taiwan-made WiMAX pico cell base station
Demo planned at WiMAX Forum Showcase in Taipei, October 22 & 23
Hsinchu, Taiwan ¡V October 8, 2007 ¡V Alpha Networks Inc., a global leader in the networking OEM/ODM industry, today announced the first Taiwan-made WiMAX pico cell base station. Key components include the Intel IXP465 network processor, Institute for Information Industry (III) 802.16e MAC and two picoChip PC203 baseband DSP processors.

Alpha Networks will demonstrate its WiMAX capabilities including the pico cell base station and other CPE products at the WiMAX Forum Showcase, Booth S2-3, October 22 and 23, in Taipei. In addition, during the Intel Developers Forum in Taipei on October 15 and 16, Intel will showcase Alpha Networks¡¦ pico cell base station with Intel IXP465 network processor.
