Alpha Networks forays into 5G micro-telecommunication, setting eyes on corporate network construction and venturing into the IoV market

Alpha Networks Inc. (3380), a major manufacturer of network communication equipment, held its investor conference on March 22 and revealed its 5G network telecommunication solution at the event. Alpha Networks Chairman John Lee announced that the company will be focusing on suites and services of “micro-telecommunication, including Cloud-RAN, small cells, routers and so forth in order to provide comprehensive network construction solutions for corporate clients. With the company having recently entered into a strategic alliance with Qisda Corporation, Alpha Networks is looking to collaborate with other businesses and industries to jointly cultivate the IoT market so as to capitalize on the opportunities of 5G technologies.

As Lee pointed out, “The first application for the 5G mobile network is fixed wireless access, which doesn’t actually use the feature of “Mobility” with 5G technology, but rather receives signals from 5G base stations through users’5G routers. So in the value chain of 5G signal transmission, Alpha Networks’ role is to replace conventional costly optic fibers with high-speed 5G wireless signals to finish the construction of the Last Mile.”.

“In recent years, we have made significant investments in key technologies for Cloud-RAN because if we can attain a thorough grasp of Cloud-RAN, we will essentially have the know-how for all applications and services that 5G has to offer. The feature of edge computing with Cloud-RAN enables rapid deployment of various applications and as it covers big data analysis and AI computing, it can be easily tailored for network construction to accommodate the different needs of different industries and businesses. Needless to say, the field of industrial network construction promises vast opportunities and it is definitely a target for Alpha Networks.”

To illustrate with a scenario, let’s suppose a high-tech company has become concerned with the issue of information security and is worried about confidential information being spied on or intercepted during the process of transmission. Alpha Networks will be able to help by constructing a secured, closed micro-telecommunication network for the company in order to allow the company’s clients to access the company’s intranet and communicate through VoIP (such as Skype/Line/WeChat). Alpha Networks will provide virtual SIM cards for the company’s employees and name the telecommunication system as the company’s title or simply as “Alpha Networks” to ensure the security and confidentiality of data in mobile communication and signal transmission.

With regards for IoT applications, suppose a ready-to-wear manufacturer wishes to have access to information such as the environment or frequency of consumers wearing their merchandize, it can simply integrate NB-IoT in their apparel so that their products can be connected to the network and Cloud-RAN will be able to perform edge computing and big data analysis on the physical location where the apparel had been in order to generate data on the time and frequency of venues where the apparel has appeared. This innovative application can be extended to various industries and businesses such as cars, bicycles, wholesale stores, stationery and so forth. This is a brand new business model that Alpha Networks can utilize to construct micro-telecommunication networks for different types of businesses and lead to the creation of numerous new IoT applications.

With the impending arrival of the 5G generation, infrastructures such as base stations, small cells and Cloud-RAN are bound to be built in significant numbers in the foreseeable future in order to expand the area of coverage for 5G signals. This will be a great opportunity for Alpha Networks. After having recently entered into a strategic alliance with Qisda Corporation, Alpha Networks will be working with Qisda to jointly develop various IoT equipment and product solutions including smart buildings, IoV, smart traffic, industrial automation, smart healthcare and so forth. We are looking forward to sustaining stable growth in the market in the future.
